Heart Motion Tracking

Vista Research is using its innovative remote sensing capabilities to track the motion of the heart during medical procedures.

1. Color-coded pins are attached to a beating heart.
2. A stereo laparascopic camera measures the motion of the heart surface by tracking the pins.
3. The coordinates of the pins are fed into a computer.
4. A signal-processing algorithm creates a three-dimensional plot of heart-surface motion.
